Identifying Color Blindness in childrens
This project explores the early identification of color blindness in children through interactive and enjoyable card games. Color blindness, particularly red-green deficiency, can significantly impact a child's learning and social interactions. Early detection is essential to provide appropriate support and accommodations, enabling children to thrive in educational environments. Traditional testing methods can be daunting for young children, often leading to anxiety and reluctance. This project proposes a playful alternative by integrating color recognition tasks into engaging card games, allowing for a relaxed assessment of color perception. The card games are designed with features such as double-coding, where colors are accompanied by distinct patterns or symbols, facilitating easier identification for children with color vision deficiencies. By observing children's gameplay and their responses to color- based challenges, caregivers and educators can identify potential color blindness in a non- threatening manner. This approach not only aids in early diagnosis but also promotes inclusivity and understanding among peers. Ultimately, this project aims to provide a fun and effective tool for parents and educators to recognize color blindness early, ensuring that affected children receive the necessary support while enjoying social interactions through play.
